Digital bank ING said Thursday some of its services would be available only until Aug. 31, in step with its exit from the Philippine retail banking market "before the end of 2022".

The following services will be discontinued by Sept. 1 according to ING:
1. Inward fund transfers
2. Fund transfers between ING accounts
3. Bill payments
4. Debit card services
5. Issuance and delivery of debit card
6. Mobile check deposit
7. Bank certificate requests.
The Dutch lender also reminded its customers that it would never ask for their account information or ask them to click on links sent via SMS.
ING earlier said "uncertain global macro situation in the last few years" led it to re-assess its retail operations in the Philippines. It said it was not closing in the country since its wholesale banking business and global shared services operations would continue.
