Former Senate President Juan Ponce Enrile has assumed his post as Chief Presidential Legal Counsel, President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. said Tuesday.
It was the 98-year-old veteran politician's first public appearance since his battle with COVID-19.

"Buo ang tiwala ko sa kakayahan at karanasan ni Enrile bilang lingkod-bayan kaya naman umaasa ako na lalong mapabubuti ang pagbibigay ng legal assistance patungkol sa mga magiging aksyon ng ating administrasyon," Marcos said.
Enrile's appointment will further lengthen his public servince record, after having served under eight Philippine presidents, starting from Marcos Jr.'s father as defense minister and martial law administrator.
