Vice President Leni Robredo asked for proof that attendees of her recent Cavite rally were paid, adding the allegation of Rep. Boying Remulla was an insult to his own people.
Remulla, whose family supports Robredo's chief rival in the presidential elections, Bongbong Marcos, cited intelligence reports and his own observation in claiming the attendees of the General Trias rally were given P500 each and were "hakot" or bused in.
"Wala din kaming pambayad at hindi namin 'yun gagawin kasi kung magbabayad kami ng mag-a-attend, sino ang niloloko namin? Sarili din namin 'yung lolokohin namin. Mas buti na organic 'yung pumupunta para 'yun ang naa-assess mo kung gaano ka kalakas," she told the Kandidatalks forum according to a One News report released Monday night.
"Nalulungkot ako na magre-resort sa ganito na hindi pinapahalagahan 'yung dignidad ng mga taga-Cavite. Kung may pruweba edi ilabas ang pruweba pero wag naman 'yung basta mag-a-accuse na very irresponsible," she added.
Remulla was trending on social media for his claims. He also said some 5,000 to 6,000 individuals in the rally for Robredo were brought to Cavite on jeepneys by the vice president herself, without presenting proof.
"Insulto sa mga provincemates. Nandoon ako, nakita ko 'yung tao, 'yun energy level ng tao from start to finish, 'pag bayad yata hindi ganun. Wala naman akong nakitang mga truck o mga bus na nagdadala sa mga tao," she said.
