Former Vice President Leni Robredo said Thursday she was invited to Harvard's Kennedy School to give lectures and workshops on leadership.
Robredo, who now chairs the anti-poverty organization Angat Buhay, is one of five invitees to the Fall 2022 Hauser Leaders Program, which is funded by international lawyer Rita Hauser, the woman credited with convincing the late Palestinian Liberation Organization leader Yasser Arafat to talk peace.

"A huge honor to be invited at the Harvard Kennedy School’s Center for Public Leadership, as one of its Hauser Leaders for the Fall 2022 semester. What a blessing to be returning to Cambridge for this opportunity," Robredo said in a tweet.
Kennedy School is based in Cambridge. In Boston, Robredo's daughter Tricia is attending medical school. Both campuses are in Massachusetts.
The Ivy League school's Hauser Leaders Program is offered at the Harvard Kennedy School of Government, where Robredo's late husband Jesse and eldest daughter Aika earned their master's degrees.
"I’m both thrilled & humbled to be given this space to share my advocacies & experiences, alongside a roster of distinguished leaders from various fields," she said.
In a profile of Robredo, Harvard said she "reinvented the Office of the Vice President" by elevating its traditional role of performing purely ceremonial functions into an advocacy-driven office, citing Robredo's flagship anti-poverty program Angat Buhay and the OVP's swift response to emergencies and calamities.
Harvard also mentioned Robredo's works during the COVID-19 pandemic, her brief stint as co-chair of the Inter-agency Committee on Anti-Illegal Drugs in 2019, and her six-month appointment as chairperson of the Housing and Urban Development Coordinating Council as part of her "colorful stint as Vice President."
Robredo joins four other Hauser Leaders, including a former California representative, foreign affairs columnist at The Washington Post, philanthropic organization president, and a founder of a global non-profit organization.
Before Robredo, Rappler CEO and Nobel laureate Maria Ressa was also invited to Harvard Kennedy School as a Hauser Leader in 2021.
