Vice President Leni Robredo's presidential bid is "not just for the elites", her running mate, Sen. Francis "Kiko" Pangilinan said Friday, adding support was growing among local leaders.
The two most recent mayors who declared support for Robredo are Iloilo's Jerry Treñas and Cagayan de Oro's Oscar Moreno.
"Some are concerned and we respect that but once local officials start supporting VP Leni and there have been quite a number already, that's not just pang-elite. The local officials are the most sensitive to the public pulse," Pangilinan told ANC.

Robredo is identified with the Aquino family, whose nemesis, the Marcoses, are seeking a return to Malacañang via the presidential bid of former senator Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr.
"Sabi ko nga dati iilan lang kami, 'yung mga tumitindig at tumututol sa hindi tamang pamamalakad. In the last five years we were bashed, we were trolled, my daughter was threatened by death or rape... but we stuck to what we believed in," said Pangilinan.
Pangilinan said he and Robredo were working to broaden their support base so they could "fight til the very end".
