Vice President Leni Robredo was the most searched presidential candidate in the May 9 elections, based on Google Trends, based on data released Wednesday or a week after she mobilized tens of thousands of volunteers at a rally in Cavite.
Robredo got a 43% share of searches, followed by former Bongbong Marcos with 27%, Sen. Manny Pacquiao and Manila Mayor Isko Moreno each with 13% and Sen. Panfilo Lacson with 5%.
The top related search to Robredo was Gov. Jonvic Remulla of Cavite, whose family is supporting Marcos, and whose brother, Cavite Rep. Crispin Remulla, accused attendees of the General Trias rally of being paid and bused in or hakot.
In the vice presidential race, Sara Duterte was on top with 44% followed by Kiko Pangilinan with 30%, Tito Sotto with 15%, Walden Bello with 9% and Lito Atienza with 2%.
The data was based on search queries from the previous week.
Education was the top search issue related to the elections followed by drugs, economy, tourism, agriculture, poverty and justice.
