The COVID-19 second booster shots are only for frontline health workers, senior citizens, and individuals with comorbidities, the Department of Health said.
Only first booster shots or the third dose can be given to the general adult population after the primary COVID-19 vaccine series, DOH spokesperson Usec. Rosario Vergeire said.
"We just like to remind all of our LGUs, vaccination sites, please stick to the guidelines and protocols," she said in a media briefing.

Vergeire added that the policy on COVID-19 vaccine booster shots is "based on science and based on evidence".
Earlier, the health department said it was coordinating with all Regional Vaccination Operation Centers to strictly comply and to focus efforts on administering the first booster shot to improve coverage, before giving second boosters.
Some 69.8 million Filipinos have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19 as of June 13 according to the DOH. Of this figure, 14.6 million individuals have received their first booster shot.
