Manila has the highest representation of women in leadership in the Asia Pacific Region at 41% followed by Singapore at 39% and New Zealand at 33%, data from professional networking website LinkedIn showed.

Globally, the Philippines ranked fourth in terms of women representation in leadership.
More women are also being hired into leadership positions in the Philippines at 43% in 2022 compared to 34% in 2015, LinkedIn said.
Barriers remain
While women representation in leadership positions has improved in the Philippines, LinkedIn said men remain more likely to get promoted internally into top roles by 26% more.
"Women are not getting promoted internally into leadership positions as frequently as men...The proportion of women decreases as they rise through the career ranks," LinkedIn's report stated.

In terms of seniority in the workforce, only 40% at the vice president level are women. The figure is even lower at 32% for the C-level or those with high-ranking executive titles in a company.
The Philippines' average however is still higher than the global average of 27% of women at the VP level, and 25% at the C-level.
"Women face more barriers in the workplace when compared to their male counterparts--they are currently underrepresented in leadership, and are not being promoted into leadership roles at the same rate as men," LinkedIn's managing director for the Asia Pacific region Feon Ang said.
