More cities dropped the policy on mandatory use of face shields as the public awaits the national government's decision on the use of the plastic covering on top of masks.
Mayors' orders cited different exemptions in the use of face shield, like in hospitals or enclosed public utility vehicles (PUVs). In Davao City, face shields are voluntary even in crowded, close contact, confined settings identified by the government.
President Rodrigo Duterte has yet to act on a recommendation on the mandatory use of face shids.
Here are a list of cities that said goodbye to face shields, as of Nov. 12:
Luzon
Visayas
- Iloilo City
- Cebu City (except in PUVs, hospitals)
- Mandaue City (except in hospitals, clinics)
- Ormoc City (except in enclosed PUVs)
