LIST: Metro Manila Mayors Who Got the COVID-19 Vaccine

To boost public confidence in immunization.

Some Metro Manila mayors received their first dose of COVID-19 vaccines this week as part of efforts to boost the public's confidence in immunization.

On Monday, the capital region's 17 mayors agreed to get vaccinated. Mayors and governors were reclassified to frontliners, or A1 priority, after reports of queue-jumping. They will receive the vaccine alongside doctors, nurses, and medical staff.

Vaccines for senior citizens are on pause, as supplies of AstraZeneca vaccines have run out. There are Sinovac jabs available, but officials are still awaiting word from the Chinese biotech firm if its vaccine is suitable for seniors.

Manila City Mayor Isko Moreno

Moreno received his first dose of the Sinovac vaccine last Sunday, photos from the city's public information office showed.

Mandaluyong City Mayor Menchie Abalos

According to an ABS-CBN report, Abalos got the Sinovac jab on Monday alongside A3 residents, or individuals with comorbidities.

Taguig City Mayor Lino Cayetano

Cayetano got the Sinovac jab on Monday and encouraged Taguig residents to pre-register for the vaccines.

"I urge all Taguigeños to register through Taguig Registry for Access and Citizen Engagement (Trace) to secure your vaccination," he said in a statement.
