Phase One of the Central Luzon Link Expressway or CLLEX, which will connect Tarlac to Nueva Ecija, will be open in June, Public Works Sec. Mark Villar said Tuesday.
Villar shared photos of an aerial inspection of the highway, which cuts through Central Luzon's vast rice fields. It is part of the government's "Build, Build, Build" program.
The Tarlac portion of the CLLEX will start at the SCTEX, diverging from the Luisita area on course to Cabanatuan City, Nueva Ecija's trading center.
Without the CLLEX, motorists from Metro Manila going to Cabanatuan City either pass through the national highway in Bulacan or take SCTEX until Tarlac City.
