President Rodrigo Duterte got his second dose of COVID-19 vaccine on Monday, photos released by his top aide, Sen. Bong Go showed.
Health Sec. Francisco Duque III administered the vaccine to the 76-year-old leader, who received his first dose of the Sinopharm COVID-19 vaccine in May.
Last month, the Presidential Security Group said Duterte had received his second dose of vaccine but this was later denied by Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque.
The Philippines seeks to inoculate at least 50 million people this year to achieve its target of population protection from COVID-19 by November.
