Six out of 10 Filipinos think teenage pregnancy is the "most important problem" of women, a Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey released on Wednesday showed.
Some 59% of Filipinos think that early teenage pregnancy tops women's problems followed by physical violence and unexpected pregnancy at 11% each, SWS said.
SWS polled 1,500 respondents from Nov. 21-25, 2020 for the study sponsored by the Commission on Population and Development (POPCOM).
Of the respondents who mentioned a problem, SWS said 57% think that government efforts to solve the issue are adequate.
The POPCOM had earlier said teenage and unexpected pregnancies were rising in recent years with the COVID-19 pandemic worsening the situation for many women.

The majority of those who use family planning methods availed of it through rural health units at 45%, followed by barangay health stations at 31%, and pharmacies at 27%, SWS said.
