Commission on Election offices in Districts 1 to 6 of Manila will be closed until Mar. 28 for preventive disinfection, pushing voter's registration in affected areas to resume on Mar. 29.

The Comelec earlier shortened registration hours until Apr. 4 as Metro Manila, Bulacan, Cavite, Laguna, and Rizal were placed inside a GCQ Bubble with tighter restrictions prompted by rising COVID-19 cases.

All Offices of the Election Officer nationwide will only accept applications for voter registration from Mondays to Thursdays from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., the Comelec said.

Those who will register must wear a face mask and face shield at all times. Applicants are also advised to set an appointment online.

Social distancing measures and frequent disinfections will also be implemented.

Voter registration for the 2022 national elections is until Sept. 30, 2021.
