Pasig Mayor Vico Sotto on Wednesday said new buildings in the city would be named after the city's prominent residents, not politicians.
Implementing the new policy, Sotto inaugurated of the Jovito Salonga Building in Pasig Elementary School named after the late Senate president who was hailed as the "Nation's Fiscalizer".
"New government buildings in Pasig are now being named after prominent Pasigueños who have passed away at least 10 years ago. Goodbye to the old practice of naming buildings after incumbent politicians," Sotto said in a Facebook post.
