Metro Manila mayors said they would discuss Wednesday night a possible unified response against the sale of COVID-19 vaccine slots which the government had flagged as a scam.
Parañaque City Mayor Edwin Olivarez, who chairs the Metro Manila Council, said the goal was to come up with a uniform ordinance that will implemented in the capital region of 12 million people.
"Magkakaroon po kami ng meeting ngayong gabi ng Metro Manila Council at pag-uusapan po namin 'yan, para uniform po 'yung magiging ordinansa na gagawin ng bawat siyudad dito sa Metro Manila," Olivarez said in an interview on GMA-7's 'Unang Balita'.

Earlier this week, Manila City Mayor Isko Moreno signed a local ordinance prohibiting the commercial sale of COVID-19 vaccines.
The National Task Force Against COVID-19 over the weekend warned the public against the illegal selling of COVID-19 vaccine slots and reiterated that the jabs are free.
The Philippine National Police is investigating the new modus after screenshots of the supposed illegal transactions made rounds on social media.
At present, the government is rolling out vaccines to the following priority groups: health workers (A1), senior citizens (A2), and persons with comorbidities (A3). It is working to extend the vaccination program to economic frontliners (A4) by early June.
