(UPDATE: The scheduled weekend suspension was postponed on Friday in light of the expected rainfall of Typhoon Rolly.)
The Metro Rail Transit (MRT-3) will suspend operations from Oct. 31 to Nov. 2, its operator said.
The halt in operations will be used for maintenance works, according to the MRT-3 management.
"Ang mga aktibidad na ito ay bahagi ng massive rehabilitation and maintenance na isinasagawa sa buong linya ng MRT-3 ng Sumitomo-Mitsubishi Heavy Industries mula sa bansang Hapon," the MRT-3 operator said.
Earlier this month, more people were allowed to ride the MRT, LRT and PNR trains, as part of efforts to boost the economy.
