An online petition seeking to "encourage" Vice President Leni Robredo to run for president in the 2022 national elections has garnered over 2,000 signatures as of Wednesday just three days since it was launched.

The petition, launched by an "I am Ready for Leni" account, said it believes that Robredo can lead the country as president.

"It is our deepest desire to see the Philippines back on its way to being one of the most economically progressive, politically transparent, humane and respected countries in Asia," the petition stated.

"We believe that Vice President Leni Robredo can lead us to this goal by leading the country as the next duly-elected President in 2022," it added.
