PayMaya on Thursday launched its virtual shopping mall, banking on the boom in online transactions during the quarantine.
The PayMaya Mall serves as a centralized store, where users can access the long list of partner merchants accepting payments via PayMaya.
More than just being a mobile wallet, the company wants to serve as a virtual hub users can turn to during the pandemic for their daily needs and treat-yourself moments.

A virtual mall for buyers and merchants
The pandemic changed the way we shop. What used to be weekend trips to the mall is now time spent scrolling through sites and platforms.
"We want them to discover where they can spend their PayMaya credits in a virtual environment," said Mark Dee, Head of Growth and Marketing at PayMaya Philippines.
Apart from addressing consumer needs, PayMay also wanted to reach out to merchants affected by lockdowns.
"Since these merchants are our payment partners, we want them to be exposed to our more than 28 million customers nationwide. This is very important, especially during this time since many of them are recovering and counting on digital and cashless growth for their recovery," he added.
Merchants taking up virtual real estate in the PayMaya Mall can do so for free.
How does it work?
Users can buy products from PayMaya's partner merchants without leaving the app.
Food establishments such as McDonald's, home goods stores All Home, pharmacy Mercury Drug, supermarket Landers, to name a few, are available in the mall.
A minimum purchase of P300 is required per checkout to avail of the app's Balik Bayad feature, which grants users up to 20% in rebates, or P88, which they can use for the next transaction.
Starting Thursday until Mar. 15, customers can get Balik Bayad rebates 10 times.
Users are redirected to the retailer's website or platform and when it's time to checkout, you can use your mobile number to pay.
Shipping and delivery fees will also be done on the retailer's website.
