The Philippines on Tuesday received its largest shipment of Moderna COVID vaccines from the U.S. government containing three million doses.
A total of 3,000,060 doses arrived at the Villamor Air Base in Pasay City. This is the second shipment of vaccines from the U.S. in 2021, with the first donation containing three million single-dose Johnson & Johnson vacines.

The Moderna vaccine boasts a 95% efficacy rate, with more dosees expected to arrive later in the year.
The country is working to expedite the vaccination of more Filipinos against the more transmissible Delta variant, and to meet the goal of 50 million inoculated individuals by the end of 2021.
As of Tuesday, 20 million Filipinos have received their jabs, according to the National Task Force.
