Miss Philippines Tracy Maureen Perez finished Top 12 at Miss World 2021, the 70th edition of the competition that was pushed back to 2022 due to the pandemic.
It was the Philippines' strongest finish in the London-based pageant since Michelle Dee's semifinal finish in 2019. The country's first and only Miss World crown was won by actress Megan Young in 2013.
Perez was among the finalists in the Beauty with a Purpose fast-track with her maternal health advocacy that she dedicated to her late mother, who raised her as a single parent.
The national qualifier for Miss World was pushed back to September 2021 due to COVID and the December world final was pushed back, also due to the pandemic.
Perez was a semifinalist in the 2020 Miss Universe Philippines before winning the Miss World Philippines crown.
