The system can be accessed by anyone through the verify.philsys.gov.ph website. It is currently available for Android devices, laptops, and desktop computers with an operating system of Windows 11 or macOS High Sierra or higher according to the Philippine Statistics Authority.
Here's how to check the legitimacy of a PhilSys national ID:
1. Visit the verification website and click the "Scan QR Code" button to scan the QR code printed at the back of the national ID.
2. Once the ID has been successfully scanned, a message that reads "PhilID QR Code SUCCESSFULLY VERIFIED" will appear. The following information of the cardholder shall also be shown according to the PSA:
- Last Name
- First Name
- Middle Name
- Suffix
- Sex
- Date of Birth
- Place of Birth
- PhilSys Card Number (PCN)
- Date of Issuance
3. If the verification is unsuccessful, the website will show a message that reads "REVOKED or INACTIVE" or that the national ID is "NOT RECOGNIZED". The PSA said this could mean that the QR Code is either damaged or the information encoded has been tampered with. To address the problem, you can bring the ID card to the nearest PhilSys Registration Center or send an email at [email protected].
