Rains from Tropical Storm Dante (Choi-Wan) could trigger lahar from Taal in Batangas and Pinatubo in Zambales, Phivolcs said Wednesday, as it warned those living near the volcanoes to take precautions.

Dante is forecast to make landfall over Batangas-Quezon area on Wednesday afternoon then traverse mainland Luzon, where the two active volcanoes are located, Phivolcs said.

Lahar flow from Pinatubo Volcano could reach the Sto. Tomas-Marella and Bucao River systems, bringing mud flows and floods to San Marcelino, San Narciso, San Felipe, and Botolan in Zambales.

It could also trigger mudflows along O'Donnell and Pasig-Potrero River, affecting parts of Tarlac and Pampanga.

Heavy rains could also generate mud on the slopes west of Taal Lake, which could affect Agoncillo and Laurel, Batangas.
