The interior of Clark International Airport's newest terminal was unveiled on Saturday, showing passengers what to expect from Metro Manila's alternate gateway.
Some of the terminal's features include contactless self-check in and bag drop through a self-service kioks, a contactless ordering system for baggage, and a lounge for Overseas Filipino Workers.
It will have free lounges for OFWs, police and military personnel. The terminal is also the first airport in the country with a gender-inclusive toilet, Transportation Sec. Arthur Tugade said.
The New Passenger Terminal Building will bump up the airport's passenger capacity to 12.2 million, three times more than the current 4.2 million passengers.
The Department of Transportation also has an airport express in the pipeline. The line will be included in PNR Clark Phase 2, which will connect arriving travelers from Clark International Airport to Makati in Metro Manila in just 55 minutes.
In a previous statement, the DOTr said the terminal would start domestic operations in July with international flights to follow in September 2021.
