Presidential aspirants Sen. Manny Pacquiao and Vice President Leni Robredo agreed Thursday to set aside politics in helping victims of Typhoon Odette (Rai) as thousands of Filipinos sought shelter a week before Christmas.

Robredo responded to Pacquiao's public call to his fellow presidential aspirants Manila Mayor Isko Moreno, former Sen. Bongbong Marcos, Sen. Ping Lacson, and labor leader Leody de Guzman to pool their resources to help victims of the typhoon.

"Magsama-sama tayo upang tulungan ang ating mga kababayan na nasalanta ng bagyo. Now is the time to come together as one. Tulungan natin," Pacquiao said in his social media post.

Robredo replied to Pacquiao on Twitter, saying her team would get in touch with his for the relief operations.

"Joining you in this call, Sen Manny," the vice president said in a tweet punctuated with praying hands emojis.

Pacquiao in turn, thanked Robredo, telling her: "Let's begin coordinating our efforts, we already prepared cargo planes so we can mobilize and respond quickly."
