Public transportation will maintain operations in Metro Manila during the Enhanced Community Quarantine or ECQ from Aug. 6 to 20 to arrest the spread of the more transmissible Delta variant, Malacañang said Friday.
According to Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque, provisions including that of public transport are not affected or amended by the new quarantine classification.

Trains, buses, and jeepneys can still accommodate only 50% of its passenger capacity. Commuters will be required to wear face masks and shields at all times, exercise proper physical distancing, and disinfect frequently.
Talking aboard public transport whether via phone or in person is discouraged.
Operators must ensure that health protocols are followed at all times. Routine disinfections, installation of plastic barriers, and wearing of face masks and shields for staff are mandatory.
Active transport, or biking, during this period will likewise be promoted.
