Quezon City said Wednesday it has fully vaccinated more than 100% of its 1.7 million target adult population as the country races to meet its goal to immunize 50 millionpeople by the end of the year.
One of the country's most densely populated cities delivered 3,535,619 doses via its QC ProtekTODO program. As of Oct. 27, its vaccination rate is at 100.20%, or 1,703,329 individuals who have recevied full doses. This includes residents and workers who got one full dose of the Janssen vaccine.
Partially vaccinated Quezon City residents reached 1,832,300 o 107.78% of the 1.7 million target, authorities said.
The city has a population stands of 2,960,048, based on Philippine Statistics Authority data. Roughly 60% of that are vaccinated.
Vaccination of the city's minors with underlying conditions has begun, with more to set to receive their first dose starting Nov. 3.
Though targets for population have been met, the city said it would continue vaccinating residents, workers, and minors to curb surges brought about by the Delta variant.
