Senatorial aspirant Raffy Tulfo on Monday said he didn't see the need for former Sen. Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. to apologize for his father's dictatorship, noting that the son should be given the chance to prove himself.
"Why would he (Bongbong) apologize for something he didn't do, na ang may kagagawan ay tatay niya?" Raffy told ANC in an interview when asked about his stand on calls for Bongbong to apologize.
"Give the other relative na wala namang kinalaman doon sa kaso a chance para ma-prove niya ang sarili niya," he added.
Raffy said he could relate to Marcos' situation, considering that he has been consistently dragged in the issues involving his siblings.
His sister, former Tourism Sec. Wanda Tulfo-Teo, figured in an alleged anomalous P120- million ad placement on their brother Ben Tulfo's television program when she was still tourism secretary. The Ombudsman recently cleared her in this case.
"May mga issue ang mga kapatid ko, and yet tinuturo sa akin na kasabwat ako at sinasabihan rin ako na mag-sorry, isoli niyo yan. Sinasabi ko, why? Anong kinalaman ko diyan? Bakit ako mag-sorry? I don't have anything to do with it," Raffy said.

Public interest in the Marcos family's ill-gotten wealth and human rights violations was reignited after the late dictartor's only son and namesake filed his candidacy for president in the 2022 elections. These said these matters should be left up to the courts.
"Kung meron nang court decisions, pabayaan na natin yung korte na i-implement yan. Kung ano pang kasong meron na pending, so be it. Hayaan nating gumulong ang mga kasong yan sa korte," he said.
Raffy said it's also up to the young Marcos to at least recognize the atrocities during his father's dictatorship, adding that he would not dictate his fellow candidate what to do.
The broadcaster said his group was in talks with Bongbong to become part of his senatorial slate, but no decision has been made yet as there are still matters they need to iron out.
He said he had accepted the offer of Sen. Panfilo Lacson to be a guest candidate in his senatorial slate.
Tulfo topped the list of preferred senatorial candidates in the recent Pulse Asia and Social Weather Stations surveys conducted last month.
