Vice presidential candidate Kiko Pangilinan explained how one of the laws he pushed for in the Senate could bring down food prices in a commercial that got Twitter seeing shades of the bizaare RC Cola commercials.
Even from daughter Frankie Pangilinan, who told her father on Twitter that she thought he would admit to being an RC Cola bottle. What about the four glasses on her back, she asked.
Produced by masters of the bizaare Gigil, the RC Cola series saw a mother removing her head to reveal a giant soda bottle then poured it on glasses attached to her son's back.
The Sagip Saka Act mandates local governments and national agencies to forego middlemen and buy directly from farmers. Pangilinan posted the ad with the hashtags #HelloPagkainGoodbyeGutom #AngatBuhayLahat #LeniKiko2022.
In the ad, Pangilinan hosted lunch for a typical Filipino family and let the produce do the talking. Tahong clapped. Bitter ampalaya had nice things to say. And the meal ended with a platter of grilled liempo for sharing.
