(UPDATE) The Office of the Vice President's Bayanihan E-Konsulta, which offers free teleconsultation for outpatient cases during the pandemic, and other assistance projects will end its services on May 31, its Facebook page said Monday.
The program is part of Vice President Leni Robredo's COVID-19 response efforts to decongest hospitals, help address the COVID-19 surge, and cater to the healthcare need of Filipinos who don't have access to doctors.
"Taos-puso kaming nagpapasalamat sa lahat ng nakiisa sa inisyatibo nating ito upang makapaghatid ng kinakailangang tulong medikal sa ating mga kababayan ngayong panahon ng COVID-19 pandemic," it said on Facebook.

Through this volunteer-driven service, it sent out thousands of COVID-19 care kits which includes a thermometer, oximeter, medicines, face masks, and other essential items to patients in Metro Manila and nearby provinces. It also handed out anti-viral pill molnupiravir used to treat COVID-positive patients.
The page thanked volunteer doctors, nurses, and other professionals who alloted their time for the initiative.
The OVP will also stop receiving applications for medical and burial assistance starting June 1 to pave way for a smooth transition to the next vice president, Robredo said in a separate post.
