Social media star Sassa Gurl said Wednesday she would vote for Leni Robredo as president, as more internet celebrities make their political beliefs known during the official election campaign.
Sassa Gurl told her 374,000 Twitter followers that she picked Robredo because the vice president would likely listen to the masses.
"Pinipili ko personal na iboto si VP Leni Robredo," she said on Twitter, which got more than 31,500 "hearts" as of Thursday noon.
Sassa Gurl is a trailblazing LGBTQIA+ personality, who was the first queer person to be the calendar girl of whisky brand White Castle that was for decades reserved for women in red bikinis.
"Hindi election ang makakasagot ng issue, kahirapan at kurapsyon na meron tayo ngayon. Pero mahalagang makisali sa usapin at lumahok sa pagboto dahil isang hakbang to sa pagbabago. Ang laban ay patuloy hindi lang sa araw ng eleksyon, ang laban ay ang masa," she said.
Content creator Pipay, known for her toothy grin, also expressed her support for Robredo.
Gen Z's Kween Yasmin Asistido also publicly showed her support for Robredo "para sa ating malapit na pangbangon."
Macoy Averilla, also known as Macoydubs, shared a "Mean Girls" reference to show his support for Robredo. The 2004 Lindsay Lohan-starred movie was famous for its "On Wednesdays, we wear pink" line.
Professional voice actor Inka Magnaye posted a selfie in a pink shade as support for Robredo.
Gen Z vlogger Mimiyuuuh earlier featured Robredo in her channel, cooking lugaw while sharing tips on life and love, after actress and host Toni Gonzaga hosted Robredo's rival Bongbong Marcos Jr. in her vlog.
