The Department of Tourism said Thursday hotels had been allowed to accept guests from different households to stay in one room in areas under Alert Level 3 or lower, paving the way for group staycations.
Non-quarantine hotels will also be allowed to operate at full room occupancy, as long as guests follow minimum safety protocols such as mask-wearing and hand hygiene, the DOT said in a statement.
Room service, food deliveries and daily housekeeping are also allowed for hotels under Alert Levels 1, 2, and 3, it said.
Before the guidelines were eased, guests from different households cannot share a room and will have to book different rooms. Only guests from the same household can stay in the same room, limited to double occupancy only.
