Tropical Depression Auring entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility on Wednesday, PAGASA said, as southern provinces braced for the first storm of the year.
Auring was monitored inside PAR at around 8 a.m., on course to make landfall in the Davao-Caraga region this weekend, PAGASA said. It was packing maximum sustained winds of 45 kph with 55 kph gusts.
One a tropical cyclone is inside the PAR, PAGASA is reponsible for notifying its peer weather bureaus in the region.

PAGASA advised residents of flood-prone and landslide-prone areas in in the Visayas, Bicol Region, MIMAROPA, Caraga, Northern Mindanao, Davao Region, Cotabato, and Lanao del Sur to prepare.
