The digital banking arm of Unionbank has opened signups for early access to the app after securing clearance to operate from the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas.
Prospective clients can join UnionDigital Bank's whitelist by signing up on its official website for a chance to be one of the exclusive first-time users.
At present, UnionDigital Bank said it's "currently available to a limited number of customers by invite only."
The development comes after the central bank granted UnionDigital Bank a certificate of authority on July 12. The certificate is the last stage of the digital bank license application process.
Interest in digital banking and mobile wallets grew among Filipinos in the last two years as pandemic restrictions prompted a shift in people's spending and banking habits.
