The University of the Philippines-Diliman said Thursday all public spaces on campus, including the Academic Oval, will be closed from March 12 until further notice to cap a surge in COVID infections in Metro Manila.
UP Diliman said it would halt the public's access to the whole Academic Oval, College of Human Kinetics, PAUW-UP Child Study Center, National Science Complex, and bike routes.
The university last closed its well-visited open spaces temporarily in late January in response to the threat of new COVID variants.
Campus residents are still allowed to do outdoor exercises but only inside their respective areas or purok.
