The Commission on Elections on Monday urged eligible voters to register with the poll body this June or July as preparations begin for the 2022 Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections set for December this year.
While there is no exact date yet, voter registration activities will resume within the next two months, Comelec Commissioner George Erwin Garcia told reporters in a press briefing.
"Sa darating na June or July, magsisimula na muli ang registration of voters. Again doon sa mga hindi nakapagparehistro ng kanilang registration, pinapaalala namin, abangan niyo yung continuing registration of voters na gagawin ngayong June or at least first week of July ng taong ito," he said.

Garcia also clarified claims that the Comelec used some of the funds for the barangay polls, saying the poll body has yet to receive such allocations.
"Wala pang nabibigay sa aming budget para sa barangay election. Katatapos lang ng national election, bakit naman kami bibigyan kaagad kami ng budget para sa barangay?" he said.
"You can always verify with DBM that the budget for the barangay election of 2022 supposedly by December is still intact. Hindi pa kami kumukuha kahit singko doon. At nagpaplano pa lang kami ng pag-start muli ng proseso para sa barangay election," he added.
Some 65 million Filipinos were registered for the recently-held national and local elections last May 9, where Bongbong Marcos and Sara Duterte-Capio are headed to a landslide win based on the partial and unofficial count in the Comelec's transparency server.
