Vice President-elect Sara Duterte-Carpio was proclaimed by Congress on Wednesday after a historic election that saw her emerge as the national candidate with the most number of votes.
Duterte-Carpio will succeed outgoing Vice President Leni Robredo to become the third woman to hold the office once held by former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, who brokered the Marcos-Duterte tandem.
Here's what the public can expect from the vice president-elect:
Ally of the president
Duterte-Carpio is the first vice president to be elected allied with the incumbent president since the 1986 restoration of democracy in the Philippines.
The eldest daughter of President Rodrigo Duterte ran with Marcos Jr. under the 'UniTeam' tandem to win the May 9 elections by a landslide.
Throughout the campaign period, Duterte-Carpio said she would be a loyal vice president to Marcos Jr.
"I will be a supportive and loyal vice president to Apo BBM in the event that he wins," she said in an interview during the campaign period.

Duterte legacy, training ground for presidency?
As vice president, Duterte-Carpio is in a position to continue the Duterte brand of politics for the next six years and is only a heartbeat away from the presidency.
Her win makes her a "president in waiting", University of Santo Tomas Department of Political Science Chair Dennis Coronacion said.
"If she wins, she can use the next six years as a training ground for the presidency," Coronacion told reportr in a previous interview.
Duterte-Carpio's win is also an affirmation of the Duterte brand of politics according to Coronacion.
"It would show that people support the kind of politics the Dutertes are pushing for. She would serve as a reminder of her father," Coronacion said.
