William Vincent Marcos said his father Bongbong is a "great father" who "wouldn't hurt a fly" and should be given the chance to serve as president, as he discussed what life is like with one of Philippine politics' most prominent last names.
As much as the 24-year-old software developer with no social media presence shuns the limelight, he joins his father on campaign motorcades that double as family bonding time and a chance to see more of the Philippines after attending boarding school in the UK then working in Singapore.
"He's a great guy, a great father. I've never seen him hurt a fly. Just for that, I say go for it," the youngest Marcos' three sons nicknamed Vinny told celebrity talk show host Boy Abunda.

"I think in politics there's a tendency to paint people as very good and very evil. If i think he's the greatest person in the world, he can't be all that bad right? So maybe try to take a more objective view, I would say," Vinny said.
On the campaign, Vinny said he signs autographs for eldest brother, Sandro, who's running for congressman in their home province of Ilocos Norte.
"Ako naman, sanay naman ako growing up I've always been a Marcos. When it comes to the haters, normal naman for me. I've heard it growing up but there's so many supporters now it's so hard to be negative sobrang passionate sila," he said.
"I'm born with my name... What can you really do? You can't really debate when you're five years old. You just take it," he said.
The Marcos brothers grew up in Ilocos Norte, by the beach, until they were sent to boarding school, said their mother, Liza Araneta-Marcos.
In the U.K., Bongbong would bond with their sons during morning grocery runs at Waitrose to buy ingredients for breakfast, Liza said. The presidential candidate is picky when it comes to fruit juices, Vinny said.
"I grew up next to the beach. I was never influenced by money or buying expensive stuff. My dad naman is kuripot. All I see is the beach and the house," he said.
Asked if he approved of his father running for president, Vinny said: "I want my father to be happy. I want him to do whatever he needs in order to be fulfilled. In that case, I do support my father because I want him to be happy."
