Television host Willie Revillame, long courted by politicians to run for public office, said Tuesday he would support Sen. Bong Go for president and Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio for vice president.
Revillame said he was one with the Duterte family and that the rumors were true, the President had called him up at 3 a.m., but not to convince him to run for vice president against her daughter.
"Sen. Bong Go for president, Vice President Sara Duterte, 'yun po ang aking gagawin at susuportahan," Revillame said during the launch of a so-called "Malasakit Center" for the poor in Malabon. The relief centers are a pet project of Go.
Revillame did not elaborate on his phone calls with the President during the event. he said he would discuss it in the "24 Oras" newscast of his home network, GMA. "Hindi po ako pinapatakbong bise presidente, hindi po, iba po ang pinag-usapan namin. Hindi po puwedeng labanan si Sara, isang pamilya lang po ito at magsasama-sama kami."
The TV host and commedian has taken the various incarnations of his song-dance and game show across ABS-CBN, TV5 and GMA Network, promising the poor a shot at millions of pesos and livelihood packages.
