ABS-CBN News YouTube Account is Inaccessible

(Editor's note: ABS-CBN News' YouTube was back online at around 4 p.m. the same day.)

ABS-CBN said Monday it was investigating problems on the YouTube channel of its news arm after the page was inaccessible as of Tuesday morning. 

"We are aware of the problem of accessing ABS-CBN News channels on YouTube. We are currently investigating this and working closely with YouTube to resolve the problem," the Kapamilya network said in a statement.

For the meantime, ABS-CBN said its live streams and news reports can be watched on the TeleRadyo Youtube Channel.

YouTube is among digital platforms for ABS-CBN News, where it has 10 million subscribers. ABS-CBN keeps separate channels for news and entertainment on YouTube and Facebook. They are also available on the company's own streaming platform, iWant.

The inaccessible channel features snippets of shows aired by the Lopez-led network's news programs as well as news content produced solely for its digital audience.

The development is a blow to the network's digital pivot since going off the air on May 5 after its 25-year franchise ended. In July, lawmakers rejected ABS-CBN's bid for a fresh 25-year license.

On Sunday, ABS-CBN was a trending topic on Twitter as Typhoon Rolly (international name: Goni) pounded large swaths of the Bicol Region and Southern Luzon.  Social media users pointed to its news coverage despite the lack of a broadcast franchise.
