Restrictions Continue to Ease for Airlines During Quarantine

Carriers can now forego designating  portion of their aircraft as isolation areas as travel restriction carefully ease to help airlines restart during the pandemic.

This was done upon the recommendation of the Department of Transportation and the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines, the Inter-Agency Task Force on COVID-19 said.

Local government units were ordered to relax entry protocols imposed upon airline crew layovers and during emergency situations such as typhoons, volcanic activities, diversions, emergency landings, and other similar unforeseen and time-sensitive evacuations.

Such situations are exempted from the test-upon-arrival requirement, which allows airline crew to temporarily lodge in accommodation establishments under a bubble concept.

The Department of Interior and Local Government is instructed to coordinate with LGUs to align health entry protocols for such emergency situations. The CAAP shares the responsibility of supervising the implementation of such measures.
