Aug. 9 Not a Non-Working Holiday for Ramos State Funeral, Malacañang Says

No such announcement from the Palace.

Malacañang said Thursday Aug. 9 had not been declared as a non-working holiday to honor the late President Fidel Ramos, contrary to social media posts.

There's no such announcement or proclamation from the Office of the President or the Executive Secretary, said Press Secretary Trixie Cruz-Angeles.

"Huwag po tayo maniwala sa mga kumakalat na post sa Facebook at sa iba pang social media platform na idinedeklarang special non-working holiday ang August 9, 2022," she said.

Ramos, who died at the age of 94 due to COVID-19 complications, will be given a state funeral with full military honors on Aug. 9, the Palace earlier said.
