How Much Mobile Data Can P100 Buy?

Internet in the Philippines is lagging behind the rest of the world, ranking 98th in terms of affordability next to 117 countries in a study, and classified as “comparatively mediocre.” Hybrid work and digital everything is here to stay in the new normal and Filipinos will have to pay the price.

According to the 2022 edition of the Digital Quality of Life Index conducted by cybersecurity platform SurfShark, Filipinos have to work around 11 hours and five minutes on average to afford fixed broadband service for average internet quality.

Internet quality refers to speed, stability, and growth, where the Philippines placed 45th and promises connectivity that is only around the same as the global average.

Ayala-led Globe said its data is among the most affordable in Southeast Asia at P6 per GB. "Globe has been providing Filipinos across social classes with connectivity options that are responsive to their needs without breaking the wallet,"
