An interior undersecretary said Wednesday he would ask the country's pandemic task force to require fully vaccinated persons to wear proof immunization like IDs to help law enforcers distinguish them from those who haven't completed their COVID jabs.
It's a "sacrifice" that will be asked of the fully immunized, said Interior Usec for Barangay Affairs Martin Diño. Under Alert Level 4, or the second highest quarantine that is being piloted in Metro Manila, some freedoms such as indoor dine-in are restricted to those who have had two shots.
"Ire-request ko sa Inter-Agency Task Force para maiutos sa lahat ng mga barangay na ito na sana ang maging sakripisyo ng bawat Pilipinong nabakunahan," he said during the Laging Handa briefing.
"Kung ikaw ay bakunado na, paglabas mo ng bahay, isuot mo na 'yung vaccination card," he said.
Under Alert Level 4, those who partially inoculated or unvaccinated can only eat or transact business with some establishments outdoors.
"'Pag labas mo ng bahay hindi ka na maaabala ng pulis o ng barangay, tatanungin ka 'asan ang vaccination card mo?' kung antimano isasabit mo na sa iyong dibdib."
Diño said people would also be relieved to know that those near them are vaccinated, based on the IDs around their neck. He also plans to ask the IATF for special privileges for partially-vaccinated individuals.
