FVR Wake is Open to the Public at These Hours

The wake of former President Fidel V. Ramos has been opened to the public on Sunday to allow Filipinos to pay their last respects to the late chief executive.

Public viewing of Ramos' wake at Chapels 2 to 4 of Heritage Park in Taguig City began at 7 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, and will continue on Monday, Aug. 8, from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., according to his office.

Those who want to visit Ramos' wake are encouraged to come early so that more visitors can be accommodated during the allotted time.

Ushers will be deployed at the venue to assist and guide visitors, and stanchions will be prepositioned inside the viewing chapels to ensure a smooth flow of foot traffic.

Visitors are also advised to wear their masks at all times and observe social distancing as much as possible.

Ramos, who served as the Philippines' 12th president from 1992 to 1998, died last Sunday, July 31, at the age of 94.

A state funeral with full military honors is set for Tuesday, Aug. 9 to honor the late president, Malacañang said.
