Fire Hits Newly-Opened SM Mega Tower

(UPDATE) Fire hit the newly-opened SM Mega Tower in Mandaluyong City on Thursday, the Bureau of Fire Protection said, declaring fire out after six hours. 

Black smoke was seen coming out from the high-rise building at around 10 a.m., according to eyewitnesses. 

At 10:26 a.m., BFP-NCR raised the alert to first alarm, the lowest in its warning system. The blaze was under control at 1:52 p.m. and declared fire out at 3:50 p.m., BFP Mandaluyong said.
