GCash Warns Against Fake Donation Drives for Agaton

GCash warned users of scam donation drives as Filipinos look to send funds to survivors of Tropical Storm Agaton.

Scammers will often accompany posts calling for donations with a story or some details on why they need cash, usually calamities or for medical procedures. This type of scams are widespread, even beyond typhoon season.

The mobile wallet app urged users to throughly check the accounts of individuals claiming to pool cash as donation for victims or for other causes.
