Jobs dealing with corporate digital transformation and information technology are on the rise in 2022, employment website JobStreet said Tuesday as more career opportunities are expected to open up with the easing of pandemic restrictions.

With the COVID-19 pandemic speeding up digitalization, technology-related roles have become a "staple" in companies according to JobStreet Philippines country manager Philip Gioca.

"The job market is demanding more digital transformation through the recruitment of digital natives and tech-savvy individuals," Gioca told reporters during a virtual press conference.

"Majority of the jobs that will be relevant in the future are all about digital and are digital in nature. That’s why it's important for us to upskill to be digital-savvy," he added.

Roles that are seeing an increase in demand according to Gioca are the following:

1. Virtual assistant

2. Content creator

3. App developer

4. UX designer

Call center jobs, particularly IT roles in the business process outsourcing industry, however, still have the biggest demand in the Philippine labor market since these emerged to be the "most resilient" even when the COVID-19 pandemic upended the global labor market, Gioca said.

"The biggest demand remains to be the IT call center jobs [and] customer service-related," Gioca said, noting that the BPO industry is expected to grow bigger with the reopening of the economy.

Job seekers looking for digital and technology-related roles are encouraged by JobStreet to join Asia's biggest virtual career fair from March 9-11 where over 75,000 roles will be available. Interested applicants can register here.
