The ING mobile banking app will be discontinued by Oct. 26, the Dutch financial giant said Tuesday as it urged customers to claim their balance beforehand.

After Oct. 26, ING said it would charge customers a one-time fee of P1,000 for the processing of unclaimed balances per account. If the account has a balance of less than P1,000, ING said the processing fee would be equivalent to the remaining balance of the account.

Customers who will fail to claim their balance before Oct. 26 need to visit the ING office in person after the said date to process their remaining balances, the bank said.

ING earlier announced its exit from the Philippine retail market but clarified that it was not closing in the country since its wholesale banking business and global shared services operations would continue.

The Dutch lender also reminded its customers that the following services are only available until Aug. 31:

  • Inward fund transfers (InstaPay and PESONet) including QR services
  • Fund transfers between ING accounts
  • Bill payments
  • Plastic and Virtual VISA debit card services including online, in-store, and ATM transactions plus card issuance
  • Mobile check deposit
  • Bank certificate requests
