Why John Estrada’s ‘Ang Probinsyano’ Exit is Trending

Actor John Estrada trended on Friday night after shocking netizens with the gruesome death scene of his character in the penultimate week of"FPJ's Ang Probinsyano".

Estrada bowed out of the show in its Aug. 5 episode after his character, the antagonist Armando Silang, met his death in what some netizens described as one of the most brutal scenes on Philippine television.

In the episode, Cardo Dalisay, played by Coco Martin, and his team finally caught Armando after his evil acts had been exposed in public. After being beaten, Armando dared Cardo to make sure that they would be able to kill him or he would come back to hunt them.

Armando then woke up with arms outstretched and his hands tied in ropes connected to two vehicles. He died in the scenes that followed.

Netizens took to social media their thoughts about Estrada's character's death, which appeared during primetime.

Aside from Estrada, actress Lorna Tolentino also exited the show in Friday's episode after the death of her character, Madam Lily.

"FPJ's Ang Probinsyano" will air its final episode on Friday, Aug. 12, after almost seven years on television.
